Cantos de Quisqueya is a celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, showcasing the rich musical traditions of the Dominican Republic. Featuring performances by renowned Dominican Alumni of the Newark School of the Arts, Gabriel de los Santos, and Patricio Molina, this event will take audiences on a journey through the rhythms and melodies of merengue, bachata, and other Dominican dances. Highlighting works by classical Dominican composers, the concert will blend the energy of folkloric dance with classical music, paying tribute to the cultural heritage of Quisqueya, the Taíno name for the island of Hispañiola. This unforgettable performance honors the essence of Dominican identity.
